On the occasion of the 51st Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) to be hosted by H.E. Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, we are pleased to welcome all OIC Member States as well as Observers to İstanbul on 21-22 June 2025, with the theme “The OIC in a Transforming World”.
Turkish Permanent Representation to the OIC, being the first independent permanent mission with a diplomatic status, was established in Jeddah in 2015 prior to the commencement of Türkiye’s 13th Islamic Summit (2016-2019) Presidency.
We are proud to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of our Permanent Mission, which is crowned by Türkiye’s hosting of the 51st CFM, which will be the fourth CFM to be held in İstanbul.
Being a founding member of the OIC, Türkiye hosts one of the four OIC Standing Committees, i.e. Economic and Commercial Cooperation Standing Committee (COMCEC) under the Chairmanship of H.E. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as well as two subsidiary organs of the OIC: Research Center for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA) and Statistical, Economic and Social Research Training Center for Islamic Countries (SESRIC); along with other affiliated organs Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF), OIC Broadcasting Regulatory Authorities Forum (OIC-IBRAF) and OIC Arbitration Center.
Türkiye will also host the OIC Police Cooperation and Coordination Center as well as the OIC Media Forum (OMF), which will be operational soon.
In line with our foreign policy goals and priorities determined by H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Türkiye, our Permanent Representation will maintain its support to the Organization in a wide spectrum of issues, primarily the Palestinian cause which is raison d’être and priority agenda of the OIC, including combating Islamophobia and religious intolerance, protecting the rights of Muslim minorities and communities around the world and providing humanitarian aid to Muslims in need.
Moreover, Türkiye remains committed to supporting the Organization in a constructive and efficient manner in areas such as trade, economy, culture, science and technology, human rights, education, women, youth, information, as well as media and communication.
During our CFM Chairmanship, we will spare every effort to contribute to the joint Islamic action in close consultation and cooperation with the OIC Member States and the General Secretariat.
Sincerely,
Cenk Uraz
Ambassador, Permanent Representative
